Ron ("Tout") McDermott, MAYOR
Ron McDermott, often referred to as "Tout" by his friends, was elected Mayor in the 2003 Municipal Elections. While new to Municipal politics, Mr. McDermott has an outstanding record of community involvement, including Past President & Executive Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 201 for 11 years, Past Executive Member of the Essex County Senior Baseball League for 27 years & Co-Commissioner for 1 year, Member of the Kingsville-Essex Community Band for 8 years and Member of the Windsor-Essex Sun Parlour Chorus for 13 years. Voted Essex Citzen of the year 2002-2003, Mr. McDermott was also the recipient of the Queen's Jublilee Award Medal in 2003. As Mayor for the Town of Essex, Mr. McDermott will represent the Town on County Council and will be involved in a variety of Boards and Committees, including the Police Services Board, the Board for the Union Water System, the Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Town's Personnel Committee.
